GS1 - bar codes

GS1 Denmark is one of more than 111 national GS1 organisations. GS1 Standards is the most widely used supply chain standards system in the world. GS1 is a neutral, not-for-profit, global organisation that develops global standards and solutions to improve the efficiency, security and visibility of supply chains across industries. GS1 is driven by close to two million user companies, which execute more than six billion transactions daily in 150 countries using GS1 Standards.

GS1 Standards provide:

  • Unique identification - of items, shipments, assests, locations etc.
  • Automatic data capture via barcodes and RFID tags
  • Electronic data exchange, for example via EDI and master data pools (in Denmark: GS1Trade Sync).

The Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) have made an Export handbook about rules for export and dokumentation for almost 190 countries. As a member you have access to the electronic version through the website. It gives you an updates and effective overview of relevant export technical informations i all the included countries.

Frida Food Data

The database Frida Food Data ( was created and published by the National Food Institute, Technical University of Denmark (DTU) with the intention to facilitate public access to information about substances in the food we eat. Frida Food Data includes data on nutrient content of various foods, and the administrators strive to ensure that the database reflects the food supply in Denmark and that data are as correct and up to date as possible.
